Out of curiousity, why did you leave the un-opened flower at 2 o'clock in color? It almost imediately draws my eye away from the subject...

Nice! I like the green "bud" that you left color. The b&w toning is great and well with the red flower.

I don't think this one works for this challenge. The way it looks, all the flowers are the same color, so it doesn't seem to me that there is a need for the desatration. An di'm not sure about the bud either.
