 ended up using ps elements and ps 7. lightened it, cropped, desaturated and recoloured the eyes

Nice sharp shot of the cat! Love the detail in the fur. It's hard to get that close with a cat shot (especially if you let the flash fire the first time.... I can't get near my cat with a camera now...) Don't think the desat really adds to the shot though...

Image is in excellent focus but lacks any white, other than a few speckles of the eyes. In other words, the image is too neutral lacking any highlights. The current image looks perfect when autoleveled and given maybe +10 on saturation in PS.

Nice attempt, but it feels as if it's a work in progress and not yet complete. Just autolevel and the image jumps right out at you!

An especially nice rendition of what has become something of a cliche among desaturation shots. I probably would have entered a similar shot if could have gotten my cat to cooperate during the challenge period. I have taken a lot of desaturated cat-colored eyes in the past.
