Yep. . .this is one and the same blue ribbon winning Song Man I shot downtown a while back. Lite Earl Gossage sings on. I was so surprised to see him again at the park I eat lunch at most days. Far away from downtown where I photographed him before. He said he's moved to the park now. For a few bucks and some conversation, he was delighted to perform another concert for me. But, I actually don't think ol' Lite is doing very well. He said he'd been sick for a couple of weeks, and he has lost a ton of weight since I saw him last. I do think he is a 1 in 7 billion portrait. There is so much personality and character in that face. Especially when he is loving his music. He was playing a sad song and that's why the sad face. He was feeling it.

P.S. I just saw my homeless portrait friend again at the park. I told him about how the picture I took of him last week won an honorable mention award, and omg – he was so proud! He immediately yells across the park to his wife, “Hey, Cindi. . . .come here. .. . I won an award” So his wife comes and she’s jumping up and down all proud too, and they were so happy. You'd have thought I told him I won the lottery and was splitting it with them. When I had to come back to work, he said, “Listen. . . if ever on this earth anyone EVER messes with you – you come get me and I’ll make it right!” Tee hee :) I love street photography!!!
