I like what you were after here, but I think a little more shadow detail in the trees would have helped. Also, since this is a study in contrasts, perhaps it would have had more impact in black and white. The color just doesn't add much.
The idea here is nice. The lighting almost works, but for me the distance seems too short between camera and bend. Also I would have liked to see more of those wonderful branches going overhead instead of such stark darkness.
