This was shot on December 20, one day before the Winter Solstice. My objective was to shoot a scene similar to Solar Ice which was taken last March 3rd, a square root day. Icy temperatures and a blizzard snowstorm on the 19th created a perfect environment for this special image just in time for the Winter Solstice of 2009.

This image has some nice elements. However for me, it just does not offer enough wow or excitement. Perhaps a lower camera angle would create another push or a push of colours. Though I have to say I am happy the sun is not center frame... but its close.
