How come there were no apologies to the Northern Hemisphere like there was to the Southern Hemisphere for the Fall Foliage challenge? It snowed here Saturday! I was, thus, not able to 'get out in the field'. I went to the live butterfly exhibit at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philly. Only other thing I saw was small moth on a wall somewhere and a half dead cock roach on the floor in the basement. This is much prettier.

Lovely take for the challenge. May have boosted the color and increased the brightness a tad to take out the dark appearance. Great shot all the same. (Not voting)
Love the colours & detailled focus of the subject in this photo. The delicate orange yellow lines which make up the symmetry of the butterfly's crinkle wing patterns stand out crisp with great contrast against the black. The sharp relief makes this a joy to view and appreciate.
