This is my first challenge submission, as I just purchased my camera and I am fairly new to photography, so I'm really looking forward to the comments/suggestions. This was taken with a mirror in my bedroom. With PS, I did some color adjustments, cropping, and flipped it, but that's about it. My struggle was with the window washing the picture out. Suggestions on this will be much appreciated.

I can really relate to this choice... and I think most of us here on the site can...so it's a great idea for the challenge I think.
I really like the use of dof here. It tells a story and gets the point across very nicely.
For the window, I'm wondering if you could have shot the photo lower, bringing the camera down and ending your shot with just a bit of the window showing above your head, and it would show more of your legs and seating area as well? That might have depended on the position of your mirror, but I think it might have been a way around your trouble with the bright window.
I'm not sure how to get rid of that reflection in the camera lens. It is a bit distracting, but in my opinion I don't think it really takes away too much from the shot.
I think you did a good job and I look forward to seeing your challenge shots from here on. Hope this has been helpful!
Great idea - and nice use of DoF - --The camera in sharp focus works well as you can tell enough of the model with the softness. What doesn't work is the terrible light from the window.
This states my opinion of the shot exactly. I struggled with the window. I tried a night shot, but the color was not captivating. I tried a ND filter, but it's the Cokin system and didn't look too great on the camera. And unfortunately, I don't have drapes. So finally, I just gave up and tried to fix it with PS, which isn't easy under basic editing rules.:) Thanks for your comment. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
Cool image. Try to use a filter to get rid of the glare or reflection on the camera. 8
Thanks for the comment. I tried using a filter, but I have the Cokin system, which, unfortunately, doesn't look very sexy on the front of the camera. ;) How else could I have reduced the glare?

This image is quite compelling. I want to grab the camera myself. I love the lighting coming through the window and the way it contrasts with the red wall. Awesome.
