This was doing great 7.9, when I realized my error in processing, and asked for it to be DQ'd. Oh well, should pay better attention to the rules. Thanks to all for the votes and comments....

Dang, what a pity. I will confess I was wondering what lens you had that produced symmetrical vignetting on a square image. Even entertained the thought you might have shot it on a Hasselblad with a digital back :-)
Outstanding in-motion capture - dead-on perfect ofcus on the eye/beak. Lovely color and texture of the background as well, and a jolly nice job of work for basic editing! A capture you can be very well pleased with. (Commenting drive-by only.)
this is a stunning capture. you were either 1. very lucky to being the right place at the right time. 2. very patient and spent a lot of time setting this up. OR 3. know the right people to help set this up. in any case it is one of the best in flight photos I have ever seen. wow a very well deserved 10. would love to see a "how I got the shot" tutorial.
Now THAT is superb. I know how hard this is to capture. I cannot fault this, except perhaps his leather leg strap(s) being visible, but will revisit my score and comment toward the end of voting.
this is an extraordinary photograph .. reckon it should blue .. i'm not voting yet but having a quick look thru the challenge .. havent seen them all, but i cant imagine anyone topping this .. :)
