I figured the 60mm would provide me the best possibility of a good shot in a 'go see it and shoot it' type challenge. These little leaves always draw my attention in the fall and early winter as they hang on longer than most.
Shot 35 steps to the left out our front door in Vermont, then 6 a bit to the right and then 6 a bit to the right again...
Beech leaves tend to hold onto their leaves well into the winter making them perfect for late season photography. I can't wait for the snows to show up and then I will need to revisit this lovely curly bundles.
I wish the light had been a bit better, but the wind was playing havoc with these little guys and I didn't get another 'still' time to photograph them.
Post Challenge: Thanks all for the comments and the votes. Getting a 6 with an image like this is always a surprise as it is a bit on the quiet side. I like it a lot, as does my wife and so i succeeded.
