Composition: The hand and the coin seem to balance well with the black background. There appears to be just enough negative space. Cutting of the arm just above the wrist seems to work for you here due to the context.
Lighting: The lighting appears to be a bit too harsh and/or the white balance is a bit off. The skin tone does not appear natural. It looks a bit too orange. The light appears to be very strong coming from the right.
Exposure: The strong light has created some very strong highlighted areas on both the hand and the coin, however, the overall image appears to be exposed correctly. A slightly different angle for the light may help reduce the strong hightlights and give a more balanced exposure.
Impact: The coin frozen in midair and the hand frozen in the flip position seem to make the image static. A slower shutter speed to catch the motion of the coin and/or the movement of the thumb I believe would portray the sense of choice better and produce more impact.
Nice capture of the coin in flight - helping someone make a choice. Black background is perfect for this. Exposure and composition right on. A very minor point is the removal of the whitish spot to the left of the bracelet on the wrist.
well, this is the best coin tossing shot (totally blasts mine). HOW you got such a great shot with the coin in flight will have me scratching my head for yonks. i hope you tell. i like this muchly, though the one thing i'd add is that the hand looks a bit yellow / orange to me - perhaps the lighting is a little harsh? still, very good shot! 9.
I really love this picture..there is only one thing that I would change if it were my picture and it would be the red hue in the hand. But it's still really nice!
Haha, this is so similar to a shot I took for this challenge - only difference were my hand was on the right, and my coin was a US quarter that left a movement blur. I would've entered it but the time/date was accidently reset so it couldn't be verified if necessary. I'll be following this to see how it does. Naturally, I think it's brilliant!
