I sort of followed the instructions. But not really. I just hoped that my training and judgement would just naturally employ at least 3 of these techniques. Maybe.
Higher than 5.5 would be really really nice for the little nikon. Not breathholding.

Hmmm... Something bothers me about the composition, but I can't really put my finger on it. The first thing that comes up is the lighting, that leads the attention to the wing of the swan, wich is not the most interesting part imo. The focus should be on the heads, and they're too dark. Also the positioning of the swans (the relation between the two) doesn't tell much of a story. Therefore the back swan doesn't add much interest to the whole.
