 The USS New York was built at Northrop Grummand shipyard in New Orleans. The bow stem contains about 7 1/2 tons of steel from the World Trade Center. Seen here as it travels down the Mississippi river to the Gulf of Mexico then on to New York to be commissioned in November.
There was an early morning fog and haze on the river. PS, levels, curves, sharpen.
