Many thanks for the kind comments and generous score.
This was a fun project, the toughest part was getting my 4 year old grandson to stay still for the 30 sec exposure, he did a great job and enjoyed every minute of the shoot.
Processing consisted mainly of burning some areas and dodging others, including some of the stars. I used multiple levels and curves adjustment layers, a couple of them with screen and multiply blending modes.
Thank you again.

Wonderful image on all levels, technically, emotionally, and artistically. Two subtle elements of surrealism add to the magic of the moment: the PS tweaks to the lighting, and the wide-angle distortion which makes even the trees bend toward the compelling glow of the fire. Congratulations, Andres!
Andres, it was wonderful meeting you today, and since my computer is broken, I didn't even realize you had just won a blue ribbon. I wish I had known so I could have congratulated you in person. This looks like a great photo on my iPhone. I can't wait til I can see it full sized.
This is a really nice shot. It captures the atmosphere of camping perfectly. Thanks for the notes, I was wondering about the exposure time and if they were asked to stay still. They did a great job.
What a lovely scene!! I happen to know that park because I used to go there back in the mid 80s when I lived in Boynton Bch. I love how you captured the true essence of this spectacular night. It's absolutely perfect and a definite fav for me!!
I didn't vote in this challenge, but I would have scored this a 10.
You have shown great constraint in post-processing and retained the mood of the scene perfectly... well done
man i dont know how many times ive attempted a shot like this, you have really nailed it here. Everything is perfect - how did the fire not become over-exposed in 30 seconds? And I can't believe everyone stood still for 30 seconds! Congrats on your ribbon, fav'd
Oh Senor! You never ever ever cease to amaze me with your brilliance! What an amazing life moment captured with the perfection that I think only you could do :) CONGRATULATIONS on top honors with the deserving work of art :)
CONGRATS!!! You captured everything perfectly in this scene, from the crisp & clear sky to the relaxing moment. You truly found an interesting and unique perspective of fire in this challenge.
I am so glad that you got the blue!! What a truly, incredible shot! And I think 19 tens and 17 nines says it all! Congrats on one of my all-time favorite shots!
This just looks like somewhere around the western Everglades, maybe the Turner River or Bear Island area. It's a beautiful shot, and it made me look more than twice when I was looking through the challenge entries. I notice that it did not get any 1, 2, or 3 votes. What a wonderful shot.
Congrats on the huge score too!
FE LI CI TA CIO NES!!! Meritato riconoscimento per questa bella immagine. Scusi, ho dimenticato che lei non parlate italiano! Congrats on the well deserved ribbon , Andres. This image is really WONDERFUL
Excellent work, I like the composition, the colors, and the mood of this image. You can look at this and it instantly brings back child hood memories. Keep up the awesome work.
I like the composition but I do think the trees are a bit dark to support the, dont know the word - wide angleness. Its working better for me cropping an little above the tent.
This has got to be one of my favorites of this group...love what you did and I really hope that you put your PP Notes in your comments...I can smell the campfire from here...lol
