This is something I would do -- aligning the sloped curb with the frame, that is. Makes for a very disorienting feeling. The long shadows and subjects moving in different directions help to that effect.
I like the way they line up with the light pole and the "for rent" sign.
There's lots of other elements here I find appealing too. Like the way the shadow of the pole just touches that sign. The leaning posts at the bottom of the pole and all those access covers on the footpath, fantastic!! : )
