Taken at Duda Farm in Belle Glade, FL. Periodically, the fields are flooded to kill the nematodes. When this happens the birds come in by the thousands.
The perspective is a bit odd in this shot, because what looks like grass in the background is actually sugarcane, which is very tall. The storks are really quite large.
Kind of funny to me how most of them are just standing there, with their heads pointed down like they're admiring their reflections .. or trying to remember why they're there ;-)
Wow, this would have been wonderful for the Nine challenge! Love the reflections, they way the birds are nicely lined up, and the fact that you have one flying bird in addition to the standing ones.
