 Shot on a tripod - a must for bug work, especially with this this long macro lens.

In post processing, just a crop and then I used Nik Software's Color Efex Pro with the Bleach Bypass filter to get this colouration. I will have used Aperture 2.0's Dodge and Burn plugin in sharpen and saturation modes to emphasise the bug.

Different angle on this little guy and the colors of the flowers are obvoiusly drawing him in .. nice catch.

The flower is a little distracting, but the bug is awesome. It is super sharp and I'm impressed that it is in flight. How do you like this lens? I am looking into getting a macro lens in the near future. I shoot on a tripod most of the time as is.

I like the PS treatment of the bug, tho I do wish the flower was not quite so whitish still, I am wondering if you can darken it a bit more, I think the purple and yellow of the bee would make a for good complimentary colors?
