Shot at AirVenture 2009, Oshkosh, WI. A positively beautiful day for an airshow. The N-S orientation of the runway at OSH, and the location of the viewing area very near and to the West of the runway make for an ideal set-up. The weather only cooperates this well about 1 year out of 4.
This was shot hand-held, panning to follow the aircraft. Center focus point, AI focus mode.

Great plane shot. Very crisp. However, I think perhaps a landscape framing with the plane in the right third would have made this a stronger image. I think for the very critical DPC viewers, the sensor dust spot in the lower right corner might hurt you in points as far as an Advanced editing challenge goes. Otherwise, nice capture.
Outstanding angle to shoot this, and what an excellent backdrop with the clouds/smoke just right against the blue sky. (Now clone that dust spot below the tail.)
