This macro of a CFL bulb shot through a textured glass ashtray reminded me of one of the classic scenes from the Spielberg movie.

Thanks all for the comments! FWIW, this is the image I was trying to emulate -- I figured with all the smoke/dust/whatever the original was a little blurry too.
Here is the ashtray I used -- I took the image pretty much edge-on in SuperMacro mode (lens virtually in contact with the subject), holding it up so the bulb from an overhead light fixture was shining through the glass:
Man, I hate finding I left a hard critique on one of yours. (At least I explained my low vote, right?) Well, congrats on the notoriety of achieving the brown, I suppose!
The abstract is good, so as the color. I just think that the harsh reflection at the middle, the focus, and the bottom/background of the shot aren't good. With more tweaking this shot would be nice! Good luck to you, sorry if i was rude!
This image meets the challenge but other than that lacks of everything: focus, impact, correct exposure and white balance, visual appeal. A brown ribbon is still a ribbon, though. This shot absolutely deserves it.
