I really like this photo. This is the first one I've commented on. The contrasting colors are wonderful and you really brang out the detail on the ladybug. I also liked the title. P.S. You know me.
Damn, this could've been a real winner if not for all the space on the top half of the picture. Like to have seen a tight crop on the bugs whole body (i.e a landscape format shot). The image is so sharp and the contrasting red and yellow's good. A terrific shot anyway!
Good bug. Bad Crop. Ruined the whole thing. Could have been an 8, or better, but as it is it's only a 5. And it's that high because it is such a good bug.
Nice detail on this picture. I think it would help if the picture had a bit more contrast though - the tones are a bit dull. Beautiful closeup though and nice composition. shedonist 7
very nice closeup :) the pinkish colored background doesn't quite seem to fit... it's not offering a lot of contrast for your subjects... good shot though :) - setzler
challenge -- met technical -- nice clarity on the bug. i peersonally don't like the pinkish background. that's because i have a thing for bright white ones, but also, because the color doesn't really complement anything in the shot. i just played around with your photo and upped the brightness and gamma, and the colors overall were much brighter. i think i like that better. email me if you want me to send you a copy. composition -- i would have preferred the whole bug in the picture. don't get me wrong, this is not a bad photo. those things that i listed above are just the ones that would've had me go 'wow' more. -- gr8photos.
