This was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the challenge.
Unfortunately , the birds were not too cooperative that day and the shots that I took were all just so-so.
This shot was one of the better ones. Wished the fish was sharper , hopefully this weird looking bird makes up for it.

Oh, he is smiling, your hungry bird. Your title immediately reverberates with the initially down and out and scabby appearance of the bird's head, though he is of course magnificent. A sort of sweetness.
Beautiful colors in the head of the bird and the content does illustrate life and death but it's more like a fishing photo to me. Clarity gets lost with the fish.
