I like the delicate contrast you have going on here, between the dark bird and the off-white background. That and the delicate details you've captured on the feathers make this a nice striking photo.
Good choice of location to keep the background simple, and very good detail on the bird. He looks to be a fairly experienced pigeon, though not overly old.
