The idea was (honestly!) stolen from [thumb]//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=303498[/thumb] by dahkota a pic that I have had for a long time as my favourites.

The Gerbera is cut square with a pair of scissors. Then I put the stem through a hole in a black paper. Photographed outdoors when the sky was covered with heavy clouds.
Not much work in PS.

Kudos for mentioning where you got the idea from. I remembered seeing it somewhere but wasn't sure who shot it. It's a very good attempt and you shot it a little differently. It has a bit of your own in it for sure :)
Very creative. Really fun take on the ole flower from above. Odd that someone had to initiate a validation request as this looks like something perfectly real, but on the other hand I'd take it as an honor that they thought it was too good to be true ;)
I'd only suggest some light fill on the right side of the frame, or dodge the highlights there. Would really add a bit of pop I think. (no vote, just leaving comments)
this got a 10 from me on the 1st day --- very creative; this is a very beautifully done image -- extrememly creative; i cant wait to read about how this was done/ is that paper in the bground? printed out and then cut etc-- and the flower resting in the middle? i hope you have details! :-) lovely final product! :-)
