I think some more lighting would have helped, as well as a lower vantage point showing more of the kittens' faces.

This perspective doesn't work for me. I think if it was lower such that the rim of the basket was at eye level it would show off the kittens' faces more. Lighting is also a bit bright as the basket handle cast a sharp shadow.
