The grain makes this stand apart from the traditional closeup portraits. I think for the mood he's conveying, I'd like to see a darker background. But he gaze really does catch your attention!
Great capture of the subject. Good title too. I like that the color is still present, but the grain effect makes the picture look like a photo in a pulp magazine.
