I took this very on in the challenge but at the time got frustrated with the image and gave it up.... Gave it another shot tonight and it ended up as you see it, as a select desat.. not my usual editing style but it definately shows what I want it to :P
In Japan primary school kids aren't generally required to wear a uniform, yet you can always pick them out. Just about nation wide they will all wear a bright yellow hat or cap to enhance visibilty, and will also tote the same backpack which cost a fortune (at least AU$180 on sale, and vary as far as they also come in black... recently I have seen a few pink ones I shudder at assuming the cost)
I'm not wild about selective desat but it works marvelously here. That park looks pretty overgrown -- not what we usually think of when we think of Japan. Adds to the mood, though.
