Nikon photo capture NX , rather agressive adjustment of colour and lighting curves, followed by D-lighting and contrast to restore the image from the resulting blackness. Added a little grain and noise - would have prefered grain and noise to be a real optical artifect but sadly felt I'd pushed my lad far enough playing his horn in the middle of a field.

heh - this is great. the things we make our kids do. i think you could even go as far as cropping out the trees in the background and have him surrounded by the field. i think it would give the scene some more soul.
is that a french horn? did he take that up by choice? it seems like i would never see a kid play that around here. so i find that fascinating.
