You already got all of the comments about it having minimal motion blur due to your shutter speed. Seeing your explanation it appears you were set to standard settings and this took you by surprise and you didn't have time to change settings.
You did take the shot at a good time, where we were directly alongside the driver and could see him well.
As another said, this is too centered. If you had cropped perhaps at the front of the windshield of the Avalanche it would have taken out that distraction and shown the car entering the shot rather than being static in the center. I would also suggest cropping out some of the negative space of the road.
I'm sure if you were in complete control of the situation and could direct the driver on repeated passes in a location of your choosing with a much slower shutter speed it would have been much better and scored well. As it is he was just starting on a very long journey and didn't have time to mess around. I hope he made it to Seattle. |
