Didn't have a chance to get to the zoo this week, but a friends granddaughter came in, with her face painted like a cat. The kid is a little ham. I thought it suited the challenge theme.
Pre-challenge notes:
Expecting to get creamed with DNMC votes because the challenge description reads to photograph an animal at the zoo. I will probably also get some good votes and comments for an out of the box approach to the subject. Might also get some comments about the reddishness of her face. I'm still working on my portraiture skills.
Post-challenge notes:
Came in better than expected. I actually figured I would get more severely punished with DNMC votes than I did. The high number of positive comments, and more votes of 6 than anything else, tells me that I did well, and met the challenge topic in a unique way in spite of getting hammered with some low votes.

i was one of the few that gave you an 8. The callenge was promote your zoo, which meant it didnt have to have an animal, you were hard done by, this should have done better.
I liked this one! I could easily see this being used as an advertisement. So cute how she has the face paint on and is really doing a great job of acting for you. I guess you have to be a parent to appreciate this lol.
Very good idea! After all, some of the primary targets for zoo advertising are children and their parents. Cute pose, and nice touch with the fingernails!
I love this. I have dozens of shots like this with my little ones.I thought about doing this as well. I love the smile while trying to be scary. As far as the photo goes I see some posterization, etc., along the fingers/hands. 6
