I think my favorite animal can read my mind. Every time I go see him, unless I go when he's with the keepers feeding him, hosing him down, or doing whatever they do to his feet at 1:00 every day, he almost always watches me for a while, then either goes and gets in the water -- or starts doing this with the dirt, just like I'm always hoping he will do. They are such amazing, fascinating animals.
Here he is splashing in the water for me -- but I couldn't get a good enough angle on him. He played for a long time tho, throwing water up on his back and sides :)

congrats sandy on a fantastic photograph and great place in the challenge ..
this has so much going for it ..
the WOW .. the awwwwww and the action .. :)
I beleived this was yours when I saw San Antonio Zoo, only 1x10 this surprises me as Elephants are well liked throughout the world, congratulations on the top 20 finish.
The dust makes it look almost like too much noise reduction was used but I can certainly get over that part as it probably is just dust! I used to live in the Hill Country and have great memories of the San Antonio Zoo. I especially loved the Botanical Gardens but I think they are not the same now.
I'm gonna guess this is one of SandyP's elephants. I think they pose only for her, so if you're not SandyP, you probably have to pay her royalties for this. :-) Like the fading letters - nice touch!
