Sand hill crane family. I pulled off the road on the way home and shot this from the driver's seat. There is a barbed wire fence across the lower center part of the shot.
Hand held, f3.3, 1/500, iso 400. A F Nikkor 180 2.8 ED.
Love sand hill cranes! There was a family of four on a golf course I played - they frequented three of the holes and were always there. Got to see them dance on the tee once!
you live in the most excellent area waddy .. i cant believe those birds are four foot tall .. well i can coz you said, but the appearance is deceptive .. great shot .. :)
