Single flash camera left. Cant remember if it was shoot thru or bounce umbrella. Black backdrop. The wavy light places are due to a long shutter speed and movement of the camera after flashing my boy. He is sharp and in focus but the movement and subsequent capture of the wall and floor gives the seeming overlay.
I absolutely love the lighting, composition and pose, but I find the wavy light coming out from his neck a distraction, because it draws my attention away from the expression on his face, and the hat. I think it adds interesting detail in the background, and on his shirt.
