Walking along the lake I spied this interesting looking Black-crowned night-heron, it appeared he was enjoying the day, watching and waiting.
I did a little research on this heron and discovered although they can feed by day, this species feeds mostly at dusk or night, thriving on a diet of fish, lizards, eggs, rodents and other small invertebrates. It will also eat the young of other birds such as terns and ibises.
