I did this one last night using macro shots I took of a little fish from my aquarium and the bottom of a glass (prism style). In the end I had 21 active layers. It is difficult to describe the process because my approach is very organic. I really just play until I get something I like. I use primarily blending modes; channel mixer;layer masks; hue/sat; and levels..as well as other basic tools.
This (and the tree one too) is like a quilt. I can see it made up in velvets and shimmers. It has so mauch tactile feel, it's had to remember it's a photograph.
Wonderful colors, I really like the cube effect going on! And I know what you mean about playing until you are happy with the image, I too tend to end up with tens of layers :-)
What a strange shot. Quite the abstract piece. Really nice colors. That is alot of layers to be playing with, but I understand. I have not gotten up that high, but I have gotten pretty high when doing a pic.
would really like to know what you did to achieve this...I can see you rotated one of the pictures several times...but what else...inquiring minds want to know...oh, and by the way...excellent...really draws you in to study what you did
