This beaut of a sunset was shot from Gordon's Bay, Western Cape, South Africa, looking over False Bay. If you look closely, you will see Table Mountain on the right hand side on the horizon.
Processing:
- Blend of two exposures (used bracketing and burst mode when taking the shot)
- Straighten horizon with slight rotation
- Cloned out distant jetty poking it's head in from the left, almost on the horizon, as well as tiny distracting pebbles on the sand
- Selective curves
- Levels
- Contrast
- Colour balance
- Selective warming filter on sand

- Sharpen

Congratulations and such a beautiful image. The light truly radiates and the foreground detail, both are beautiful images on their own but together - magic.
OMG .. this is more than stunning .. opening this image it was like kapow ..
it has so much power and drama .. your colours are incredible too .. a wonderful scene, taken at a perfect time and processed to perfection .. :)
A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail in the foreground. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. A top ten image and a very strong contender for a ribbon. Well done.
