Doing a challenge entry is more fun than doing taxes, but I really need to get to it now.
Dumped these push pins out on top of a dayglo pink post-it note on my desk, and adjusted the lamp for some side light. The pink didn't thrill me, but when I did a sepia overlay layer, I liked what the sepia on it's own looked like. It made the metallic pins and the patterns stand out.
Pre-challenge notes:
No real idea, but I will hazard a low to mid 5.
Post challenge notes:
I am amazed that this did as well as it did. This was a fast, careless effort and it brought in a far better score than many of my entries that have way more creativity and effort in them. Teafran was 100% accurate in his assessment of my entry. Popular appeal is an odd thing and I clearly do not have it figured out.

A technical success, it's less than successful in an artistic sense. The lighting isn't over done creating blooms. The subject is less than interesting. Perhaps a different background with a slightly different angle would have helped. A little more thought and better framing would have brought the rating higher.
