The headwaters of the Big Thompson River on April 4 after an overnight 12" snowstorm. Rocky Mountain National Park recently received "wilderness" designation from the US Government. Preservation of this magnificent place is a good thing.
No text added. Just because it's a wilderness image. Just like billboards would be inappropriate, so would text on this image. Yes, I know it will condemn the image to a low score. But, I accept that possibility.

The whites are slightly over done which effects the entire effect of impending snow fall. This is a problem with winter images as you can never tell where the light is going to do as it can come from and be reflected from anywhere. The mallards are a very nice touch and add some character to the image which is flat and bland.
For this challenge I would really like to know where the picture was taken. Wilderness Forever doesnt really make it a post card. It makes it a Free Study entry.
