Shot in the community of Dulac, Louisiana, while on a mission trip. These folks were at a house next door to where we were working. Very nice people! The people in this area mostly belong to the Houma Indian tribe.

A brilliant portrait. It harks back to those wonderful Farm Security Administration images from the 1930s and 40s but it has an altogether more optimistic character. No evidence of despair or disorientation here. The guy is a brilliant photographic subject, and the balance you have given him between his modest house and his loving boys makes a very fine observation about the essence of contentment. 9.
Back to comment - in my top 4 of the challenge. The portrait is interesting, empathetic, natural and not contrived in appearance even if it did take a lot of posing!) and technically good.
