Not allowed to remove the highlights or would have. Actually, had it all ready and remembered it's a basic editing challenge! (Edit: have since learned much I hope, and maybe I can take this shot again sometime and do better with it).

I like the colors and the composition very much. The angles of the ashtrays and their positions work well. The focus could be crisper - or to really go for a "look" the DOF could allow for one or two to be softer than the other with a different angle.
I'm a sucker for deco, so I love it.
Collecting can be a habit too..
I think color and background work well together.
The photo could be a little sharper, and the slight bit of glare (most noticible on the yellow ash tray) is distracting
