Had to submit something and this is one of my fav's. Very basic editing - sharpen, levels, crop.

Currently sitting at 5.1 - about where I figured. It is a snapshot after all. I knew there was no way I could compete in this type of challenge - lots of fun looking at all the awesome images though!

You know, I've always loved this photo - it just leaves so much unsaid, unyet opens up so many possibilities as well.
The wonderful innocent interaction between dog and toddler. Snapshot ? Technically I guess it is - but it is also a wonderful vignette of growing up and at that level worth so much more than something pin sharp - but created for the occasion.
That is TOO Funny to be #723! I think it's technically good, but it could have been spruced up for the DPC crowd (maybe some vignette and emphasis on the foreground players). Anyway, I think it's very cool!
I've always loved this picture - makes me smile everytime I see it, and you know what - pictures are meant to be about connecting with the viewer, getting a reaction.
I love how your sense of humor always shines thru in your photos. What an eye to see a moment like this AND be able to catch it! What a wonderful and fun picture!
lol .. this is so cute .. love everything about this and also how this is one of your fav photographs ... you must really be a nice guy under that brash and crazy exterior .. !!..:)
How it fell upon Buddy to be the official breath tester, he never knew, but fell upon him it did. For awhile, he was ok with it. He would sniff the breath of the master before every date, and would bark once if it was good, twice if it was bad. Then one day, after a night out, he had come home with a strange woman, and that woman had began to frequent the home, and soon she had come to stay. Then, he had two people to check, and the job had become sort of tedious. Still, he loved his master and had begun to love the woman as well, so he continued, despite his growing dissatisfaction.
Then, there came a day when a new entity had entered the equation. A small bundle of humanity that mostly just laid there and cried and pooped, and though he knew that his duty was to protect this tiny little thing, a part of his mind warned him that one day it would not be content to just lie there. For these things tended to grow, and when they grew, they became more like his master, and when they became more like his master, he would have another breath to test!
And so came that day, and it was the straw that broke the camel's back. So it came to be that he was called upon to do his duty, and he approached this babbling, grabbing human of diminutive stature, and put his nose up to his mouth and...
... later, after having been bathed and while sitting on his bed in the corner lamenting his lot in life, he wished that he would have been warned. Warned that these small humans had a tendency to release such foul ejections from their mouths.
He sat and stewed, and the memory of the moment made him shudder, and he was such a poor puppy, and he was too old for this kind of thing.
AHHHhahahahahahahaaaa...... so very funny! Even without the title (which is freakin' hilarious), communication is still clear between these two. You need to sell this to a greeting card company. Brilliant!
... or ... NEWS FLASH! Toddler eats pet dog! [just teasing].
This is a very personal moment, and likely a memory that you're going to cherish for years to come. It is also probably too personal an image to do well at a very public contest such as the challenges here.
