I'm hoping this doesn't get a DQ for deleting too much of the background, I was running last minute & sent a request off to SC but as of now (updated to 11:05pm 3/10/09) I haven't heard back from them yet, of course I didn't leave them alot of response time.
Anyway, I'm hoping Rusty will make a few of you laugh, enough to get me another good score. He definitely has a personality all his own. Some of you may remember this photo from a SOL back in 2007.

LOL .. FUNNY AND CUTE .. its a brilliant shot of the cat alone .. then with the added humour its a total winner .. the cat's expression is so appropriate .. he really looks like he's wondering where that mouse went .. bit like losing your glasses when they're sitting on top of your head .. !!..
this is fantastic ..:)
Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. The expression, the pose, and the title really made me chuckle. Of course it would have been better had it been a real mouse BUT that would have been an exercise is frustration:-) The thing that really makes this photo is the cat's expression. He/she really looks lost & confused as he/she stares deeply into our eyes asking 'where *IS* that mouse I was chasing'. Color tones and details are good, but lighting (I know, picky picky right?:-) )could have been a bit better to illuminate the far right portion of the cat and the toy mouse so that we see it more (especially the eye).
Ha ha! The look that goes along with your title is priceless. This gave me a nice laugh this morning. =) Like your composition on the cat. Really draws me in. Didn't notice the mouse until after I had seen the cat and read your title. I like that, because after all, he/she is adorable. Well lit and great focus too boot.
Very humorous shot. The cat really looks involved. But I find the backlight overwhelms the submect. A little lighting in the front would have been great.
Ha! I love it. Technically very well done, good composition, though the cat's fur seems to have a bit of a yellow tinge to it on the right side of the photo. Nicely done though.
cute shot...talk about "bug" eyes...wish the lighting came from the front and right a bit more other than that...(and that is minor) really great capture
