This is breathtaking - literally. I could not put it into words, so I thank you for doing it for me. And I thank you for sharing the photograph as well.

It does not surprise me that this is your photo Courtenay, you have the soul of an artist and the eye of a master - you have a true gift. My thought is this photo should be on the front page with a big fat blue ribbon next to it, but my thoughts are muddled and goofed, like cereal that's been in the bowl too long.

Beautiful shot, and good stop motion of the bird, though I find the high key took some details out of the wings.

This is such a wonderful image. The x shape of the wings and tail feathers, the touch of color from the legs. Isolating the bird with a blank background really makes this very special.
Post actions
Perfect use of negative space. The red feet and beak are the crowning glory.
Post actions
The classic tern shot - and perfectly done. Bumping to 9.

One of the few bird shots I really really like. This is awesome. I'm assuming the background was a dull sky and it was dodged? Regardless, it's a well composed shot!

Like the light and translucent quality of the feathers. Kind of want to see an eyeball or a catchlight, but this works, too.

birds and negative space - a prefect combination - you've done well
Post actions
really like the focus on this...your blown out background adds to the subject

Can't add much here. Just a wonderful image, especially the wings on the right side.
