I like how the color, lighting and textures flow across the photo. Everything seems woven in with another part of the image and my eye keeps moving from one thing to the next trying to take it all in. It's a beautiful view!

Beautiful job on the processing.

This land looks dangerous, ancient, you captured the personality of it very well.

Nice dramatic sky, and good textures in the foreground.

Before the others were up, Tom stepped out of the cabin. Looking towards the east, the barren land was painted by the reflections of the sky and a yellow and crimson sunrise. A playful breeze tugged at his unruly hair, and he heard an owl hoot good-night to the day.

Which is more dramatic, the landscape or the sky? I will say sky! Put them both together as you have and you have a wonderful photograph. Congrats! Bump

I'm hoping to leave comments on as many photo's in this challenge as possible... this was one of the few images I scored a 10. One of my criteria for scoring a 10 is "Would I have this photo on my wall?" and for this one, I surely would.

Pretty awesome! I have come back to this a couple of times and bumped up the score.

Wonderful landscape. With the color scheme and your title - my first thought is that is what it would have looked like in prehistoric times.
Post actions
I like this but the border doesn't help. Why hide the sky or the foreground with a pointless black bar?
Post actions
like the feel of this like another planet.

Post processing works well with this image. The sky looks very dynamic.

very dramatic image, post processing (?) really added to the mood

Stunning landscape and sky. Looks like a scence from 10 million years ago. You can imagine a great big dinosaur standing in the middle. Great shot. Well done and good luck for the rest of the challenge.

the textures in the sky seem to almost match those on the ground

Love the ominous mood created by the scene & PP. Very smart framing too. Great work!

Sky is the winner. Colors like a bow. Border? Gives a nice presentation of a dry and sand.
Post actions
I personally am not a fan of the top and bottom crop that I'm seeing more of - that said, I find this scene quite beautiful. Strong impact on the eye. 7.

Very impressive capture and processing

I just criticized somebody for having the same kind of black bands top and bottom on their photo, but on yours it works for me for some reason (It think it's the fine gold line between image/border that makes it work here). Anyway, good job.
Post actions
love it, very well done 7

Perfect processing, beautiful clouds and colors. 10

Very nice shot, and would look great on a wall, but it doesn't have the one distinguishing thing for me that would take it to the next level in this enormous challenge.

Gorgeous, blasted landscape. Kind of shot makes me wish we had a 1000-pixel horizontal limit, sigh...
Post actions
Awesome! The border works great here. The sky is just stunning. I wish the 'land' part of the photo had a little bit more on the left side, but also creates a neat change from the rocky right. 8 from me.
