The bird flying OUT of the frame works in this case. How odd. *grin*

Nice depth of field. Good action on the bird.

Great capture and lovely simple composition.

great choice for black and white. if possible, i might have cropped it down to just the bird

very nicely done. I like the balance of the shot and the sharpness/minimalism. 9

I can't explain why I like this photo, maybe the minimalism and the black and white where nothing is distracting; your edition is very delicate.

Nie shot, good focus on the bird, and on the plant. Good use of negative space.

A nice simple composition. The image feels a bit gray to me though...

Wonderful! I like that he's almost flying out of the frame and the almost non-existent background. One of my favorites!
Post actions
Very nice minimalist image.

Nice shot of the bird but the grey of the background makes the photo dull
Post actions
Beautiful capture of the bird in flight, I like the B&W tones.
Post actions
interesting bw shot - the focus is a bit wrong, my eyes catch the bulrush to the right and not the bird - try to blur the right bulrush
Post actions
nice moment well taken
Post actions
Nice B&W photo of the bird flying away with a lot of detail.

Coming out? Going out? Curious shot, it works. ~7
Post actions
Yep. Like the high key of this, and the fully extended wing feathers.

Awesome stopped motion - and your focus was spot on.
Post actions
great clarity and well framed

This is really, really great: I love the negative space and the black and white. It's so minimal but it still manages to pop.

Great composition and use of B&W

His position in the frame makes it look like he's traveling. The willows add a nice counterpoint.
Post actions
Great capture, I'd love to see it in color.

I keep finding more and more photos that I love in this challenge. Great use of negative space. The black and white really works here. The bird really stands out.

Nice capture, but the picture looks a little washed out

wow. Okay, my favorite poem is wallace stevens, "13 ways of looking at a black bird". This image made the following line pop into my head, "The blackbird whistling Or just after." This is very well treated in post, to enhance the image extremely. Its just beautiful. It is a line from a poem, or just about to be. 10

A very solid entry in the minimalist field.

Love the composition and the B&W.
Post actions
a lot of B&W in this challenge but it works really well here, great detail in the wings
Post actions
great isolation of the subjects, love the full wing spread
Post actions
Daring, the bird is leaving the frame. It works though. Good stuff.

just not so engaging...sorry

Very clean and simple. There is something nice about it.

Good detail but the composition could be better. Flying out of the frame isnt good but it kind of works because of the cat tail it looks like he just flew away from. Nice tones.
Post actions
great capture and good details in his wings
Post actions
Very cool shot. Has a minimalist kind of feel to it that I like.

I like the almost natural triptych feel of this. Simple. Nice. 7

I love leaving the frame images, they make for a strong emotional response, excellent :)

Beautiful B&W image, you have perfectly stopped the motion of the bird and the wing detail looks excellent in B&W. Only small critism is the subject is not moving into the negative space. Best of luck. 8
Post actions
like the detail on the wing
