I didn't get to vote the entire challenge so I missed this before. Beautiful! I've been wanting to catch Starlings doing these airborn acrobatics but even if I did manage to be in the right place at the right time, I'm sure I'd not get anything like this.

Beautiful colours, but it the combination of the structure and flocks of birds that make this special.

I've seen this (I believe, forgive me if not... and I don't know if it's the same picture or not) in the Guardian with a Piers Contest. I love the birds, and the lovely structure against the sky.

So cool love the timing, nice tones and colors.

Wow! are those birds? amazing capture
Post actions
really wish you had gone out to the max allowed 720 pixels on this. incredible shot, but i'm sure the score is reflecting the size of the image.
Post actions
This is wonderful, I bet it looks amazing at a bigger print size!
Post actions
Lovely and the flocks are a subtle bonus feature! Well done.
Post actions
I love these sights of bird flocks flying in unison. Good capture of two flocks with lots of birds. The structure in the background also adds interest but competes with the birds.
Post actions
This is soo beautiful! Love the tones and panoramic composition. Well done.

What an excellent image, great in every aspect and complete with a murmuration, splendid

It's images like this that make me wish we could post bigger pictures. I'm sure this would look amazing as a poster size photo. Love the cold colors.

the birds make this special.....
Post actions
Excellent capture, great colors and detail.
Post actions
What a wonderful shot... the hues are so calming, and the birds in their swarms are fantastic. I do wish it were a tad bigger or cropped closer so we could see more of the details.
Post actions
Wow, that's a great shot. Well composed, beautiful colors. Looks kinda like two armies about to battle.
Post actions
would love to see this full size, color and composition are great
Post actions
Lovely. I wish it were larger. :~)

Great PP job - love the tone - keeep up the good work and good luck in this challenge
Post actions
Cool colours, nice silouette
Post actions
shame you didn't take advantage of the full size. May not seem to matter that much, but there would certainly have been more detail in the pic if you had used the full 720. I love the colours. Well done. Voted already (7) just returned to comment

Very cool, though you should have used the entire 720 pixels allowed.

Just down the road from me. Better than what i got a few weeks back. Quite an incredible show the starlings put on. Good luck 9.

the birds are cool. The colors are nice, though I'm wondering if curves could have made it a little lighter. I don't know how it would have looked, though...
Post actions
I love watching these huge flocks of starlings - i love the way the flock melds and dances.
Post actions
Just wish this was larger and had used the whole pixel allowance. Its a great view of, presumably, the starling flocks at Weston Super Mare?
Post actions
Yes. I often think of getting the birds. The colors add.
Post actions
Superb image with excellent detail. 8

Very nice, great capture.

Nice construction and a beautiful capture of the light and the birds!
Post actions
amazing isn't it when the birds do that...wonderful soft colors...
Post actions
I bet this looks gorgeous in a larger size!
Post actions
Beautiful colours in this shot. The scaffolding is intriguing, and the birds are awesome. With it was larger though, this would look great full size.
Post actions
I wish it ware bigger good colors and moment 10

Wow, this is so neat. My only complaint is that the image is rather small, you can't quite take it all in. Otherwise its perfect.

great title and lovely colours, many elements combine to draw the eye to the central 'meeting point'.. I detect slight colour banding in the sky, 7

Beautiful scene. I want to see this up close to see all the details.

Great pic. Might of like to see a little tighter crop on the right side, but what do I know.
Post actions
Nice! I'd love to see a HUGE print of this.
Post actions
talk about being at the right place at the right tine, absolutely beautiful
Post actions
Wonderful Photo..wish it was larger

This image holds the potential for a great deal of interest. The colors are phenomenal, though I do see a good deal of banding on my monitor. The image especially suffers from its small size. Always try to use the largest allowance that DPC offers. I'd like to see this one really large, and I'd at least like to see it at the full challenge allowance of 720px.
Post actions
Wow! You really some help here from the birds. I hope you thanked them because it is a beautiful picture.
Post actions
Man, I'd love to see this bigggggerrrr :)
Post actions
Nice shot. The swarms are a good compliment to the pic.

Great colors, great moment. I would like to see this at the maximum resolution though.
Post actions
Beautiful colors and good aspect ratio on this.
Post actions
nice timing to capture these flocks
Post actions
Why does this feel like it has been shrunk? A great shot but the size counts against it :(
Post actions
a great original image ..nice tones
Post actions
Excellent choice of aspect ratio. Great timing too!
Post actions
That's amazing! Are those bats or birds? Incredible "clouds". Beautiful colors in the sky and water. But although it anchors the shot, that structure is not attractive.
Post actions
I wish this image were larger, to get the full splendor of what you've captured. I fear it may cost you higher points, which is unfortunate, because it has lovely colors.
Post actions
Post actions
Very cool! Would love to have seen it bigger!
Post actions
architecture takes away from the birds
Post actions
This is beautiful! I love the soft purplish hues and the capture of all those birds in flight is amazing.

The clouds of birds/bats are a really great addition to this composition.
Post actions
very engaging shot. Makes me want to watch the birds.
Post actions
The colors are absolutely stunning and the scene captured is captivating. The swarm of birds doing their aerial dance must have been really something to see at that moment of time! Shame that the image size restrictions are such that we cannot get lost in more detail by looking at (forgive the pun) the bigger picture. To me, I get drawn in not just from the colors but also from the two swarms of birds roll in and out across the sky just like the motion of the waves lapping at the shoreline. Wonderful photo and beautifully captured!
Post actions
Are those starlings? We used to have huge clouds of them that danced back in Victoria and it was so fun to watch them. This is a really good display of that. Too bad it's so small.
Post actions
beautiful capture, too bad you chose to post it so small. in a larger size you could have avoided lots of sharpening artefacts. Nevertheless should be a top scorer.
Post actions
a little on the small side. You are allowed up to 720 px
Post actions
Post actions
Oh, sooo beautiful. Fantastic cooperation from the birds!
Post actions
Smooth, cool, and great capture. really like the birds.
