After a very long think, I have to say this colour version is most effective, though the toned version was outstanding.

I like this non-traditional pic of a horse, it looks a little awkward but in a way that makes it feel more real to me.

Hey, that is interesting. Enough light for the subject.

I love this image, the light is fabulous

Beautiful light, especially in the rising dust. Interesting how the lens flare creates a sort of fairy-tale bubble. It's like the light appeared, causing the running horse to stop abruptly.
Post actions
Nice shot, I like how there is little contrast, and also the light ring in the upper left.
Post actions
A pic from lynnesite? Like the warm evening light

Good shot. I like the sun position and action.

What an interesting photo! I love the pose and coloring. I am sure the model deserves a very dignified title.

Wonderful image, has a magical, mystical quality. I almost expect the horse to be a unicorn but it's missing the horn on it's head. Lovely processing. Only little niggle is that I feel you cropped a bit close at the bottom of the frame. A bit more ground underneath the horse would have been great. 8

excellent light. gives that warm glow i tendf to associate with horseys in the summer:)

Very nice image. It's good to see a few "great" images. This is a perfect reflection of your abilities as a photographer.

Wow, what beautiful light, really nice composition. I rarely like sun flares, in fact I practically hate them. But here it works!
Post actions
love the way the ground in front of the horse and his face are lit up by the sun in such a golden tone
Post actions
nice moment , burning sun...
Post actions
Really like this. I suspect however, that you are getting beat up for the lens flare. It's hard to get this sort of light without some flare.

Wow, this is beautiful. 9

So, you can catch gnats in the light! Nice shot, use of hot colors, like the backlighting of mane, and muzzle hairs.
Post actions
The colors are very nice here, the composition is okay.
Post actions
Excellent backlighting. Great composition. (I've seen this on 1x :) Congrats)

I kind of wish you didn't mention in the title that these were gnats.. Kind of has a magical quality with the sun. Nice!

Love the light on this one--nice work Lynne!

Pretty shot. Would have liked it tighter in on the horse though. Maybe crop the right side to closer to the horse too? 6

Voted earlier coming back to leave comments now. A hazy and hot day this young mare takes a much needed roll in the sand to seek relief from the heat and those pesky gnats & horseflies. The warm reddish/orange and golden hues along with the small dust cloud being kicked up invokes the idea of it being a hot and hazy day. Normally I don't like large sun spots caught on 'film' but oddly enough I think it really suits the mood and feel of this capture. The shape and color of that large sunspot to the far top left invokes imagery of the sun that much more strongly. I love how the light adds a real nice golden glow around the horse especially on the tail, the mane, and mouth. And now I am going to spoil the review with a critique:-) Sigh, does she HAVE TO do that...I know, picky picky right:-) Often times people can connect more readily with an animal or person if they can see their face and/or expression. Seeing & looking into this horse's eyes and face would, I feel, help cement the mood my showing it's reaction to the action it is taking.
