Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. I believe what I find so appealing about the image is the great shadow play and the side by side presentation of nature and man. Love the shadows that play across the road for I see it as nature throwing it's own design upon man's creation. Love the dynamic B&W tones. Good choice in presenting it in B&W for it really calls attention to patterns and the play of light in the scene. I think of 'The road goes ever on' and wonder where that winding road will take us. What lovely sights in the forested area would we see if we traveled upon it. The trees also act as a path or leading line that leads our eye to travel along road to the curve that turns and vanishes.

Very inviting on two fronts - on the left, that lovely light and field with the mist beyond, on the right, the road taking us along the line of trees. Interesting that these two directions do not detract from each other. And I quite like the shadows and how they fade as you step further into the mist.
