I have no studio, or any studio equipment, so I use what I have. I tacked up a big sheet of white posterboard over my kitchen counter as a background, used a really poor Ikea reading light because it had a stand and a flexible neck for aiming the light. I did some surgery on a banana and stuck the jalepeno in, trying to make it get noticed without being thrown in the observer's face. I used my tripod so I could get anything in that poor light and so I could use a higher F-stop for the depth of field. In Photoshop I made a new adjustment layer (of the entire image) with curves to increase the lighting a bit more, and then made that layer about 60% visible so that the front banana wasn't too burnt.

This would work better if it was closer, so you the can spot the "wolf" better. Well composed, but in my opinion the light is too harsh, washing away the texture of the bananas.
