Love the extremely shallow DOF that you were able to achieve in this shot, looks like the poor thing is all alone in the middle of no where. Although I really like the hint of the forest in the background, perhaps I would let it show through just a bit more to give some depth?
The composition with the branch comming into the frame along the lower horizontial 3rd works well and the centering of the bird feels right for this photo. I also like that the bird is facing forward, many times that you see a photo similat to this you see their backs.
I do not know if you have processed this image or not, it looks a bit soft overall on the branch and the bird. I would try to do an unsharp mask to bring a bit more detail and texture to the overall photo.
