 This is my first try at the contest. I am a big fan of Macros shot in natural light. I wanted to capture the hard coldness of winter while showing signs of spring fighting to emerge.

Nice ice, but seems a little flat to me. I popped this into my photo editor to see and found that some curves, saturation, contrast and sharpening really made the details of the ice standout.

I'm not sure where to rest my eyes in this photo. Anyway, it could be improved alot if it was darker.

Compositionally, this is actually working quite well. However, I think that the subject is just rather bland...

I like the ice, but I'm afraid the shot doesn't resonate with me. I would have like the ice on something a little more interesting...

A shot that is likely to be underrated. I went past it and something caught my eye. I think the content is stellar - love the ice-encased twigs. But I think the lighting is substandard, making it easy to miss the prize on the inside.
