Terrific idea! Problem is, it takes more than a few seconds to "get" which is more than most voters here will give you. I agree about the DOF. Also, I think if the numbers on the watch face were just a bit clearer (i.e. showed through better), it would be more obvious what's going on here.

Don't you just hate it when that happens.
The DOF is confusing in that the bottom seems in focus but the top isn't and yet they seem to be in the same plane.
